Carry out the bench work of the Bangkok Onco-PDO laboratory. Two technicians process tumor samples,

maintain organoid cultures, prepare drug plates from vials and solutions, and record every step so the

laboratory manager can release a reliable result.

The role

Bangkok Onco-PDO Laboratory tests patient-derived tumor organoids against selected oncology drugs and

returns an ex vivo sensitivity report to the treating clinician. The lab handles fresh tumor tissue, 3D culture,

drug preparation from hospital vials and solutions, viability readout, and controlled reporting. Both openings

do the same job and cover each other across the working week.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and log fresh tumor samples. Check identity, temperature, and acceptance criteria before

processing.

• Dissociate tissue, seed organoid cultures, feed cultures, and watch for contamination or failed growth.

• Prepare media, basement-membrane matrix, and buffers under aseptic conditions.

• Reconstitute or dilute drug vials and solutions to the approved plate map. Label every tube and plate.

• Set up drug-screening plates, add controls, and run the viability readout on schedule.

• Record lot numbers, volumes, incubation times, and instrument files on the worksheet the same day.

• Clean and monitor biosafety cabinets, incubators, fridges, and freezers. Report an out-of-range

temperature immediately.

• Restock consumables and flag drug vials or reagents approaching expiry.

• Dispose of tissue, cytotoxic waste, and sharps by the laboratory procedure.

• Follow the SOP exactly. Stop and call the laboratory manager if a sample, control, or calculation does not

match.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or a related field. A

relevant diploma with strong laboratory experience will be considered.

• At least one year of hands-on laboratory work. A new graduate with a documented cell-culture

placement may be considered for one of the two seats.

• Aseptic technique and accurate pipetting. Cell-culture experience is preferred.

• Careful written records. Able to follow a plate map without transposing a well.

• Thai sufficient for sample handover and worksheets. Basic English sufficient to follow an SOP and a drug

label.

• Eligible to work in Thailand. Willing to handle human tumor tissue and cytotoxic drugs under supervision.

Preferred

• Experience with 3D culture, organoids, primary cells, or an oncology laboratory.

• Familiarity with plate readers, CO2 incubators, and biological safety cabinets.

• Any exposure to ISO 15189, ISO 13485 or GLP documentation.

Working conditions

• Based in Bangkok. On site. Shift or weekend cover may be required when a fresh sample arrives.

• BSL-2 laboratory. Hepatitis B vaccination and fitness for this work are required.

• Reports to the Laboratory Manager. Two seats on the same team.
