Lab Technician

A Lab Technician is required by CareerWise Recruitment to join our North Cork based food production client. This is an exciting opportunity join a well-established business as they go through an expansion phase.

ROLE

• This role is based in the chemistry laboratory but also involves working in the micro laboratory and completing quality tasks both in the lab and on the production floor.
• Micro Laboratory Duties include, Media Preparation, Micro testing- coliforms, Enterobacteriaceae and Total Count, Read plates & log Results, Complete paperwork – logs and exception forms

Chemistry Lab Duties include: Test ice-cream bases- sampling from tank, testing for colour, fats and solids

• Test cream on intake-temperature, taste, acidity, alcohol, fat
• Test milk on intake-temperature, taste, acidity, fat
• Release bases and raw materials from SAP
• Other Duties - Quality:
• Production record review (including CCP sign off)
• Monthly KPI data trend analysis, Internal Auditing
• Partake in customer and third-party quality & food safety audits
• Note: Weekend cover required on rota basis

Job Requirements

• Relevant 3 rd level qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Nutrition, or Biochemistry
• Experience working in a food production environment.
