Lab Technician I

About the Role:

Rainbow Transgenic Flies Inc is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented part time Lab Technician I to join our team in Camarillo, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge transgenic research in a dynamic and science-driven environment. Responsibilities:

• Line up and prepare fly embryos for microinjection.

• Prepare and handle laboratory micro-injection glass needles.

• Maintain fruit fly stocks and laboratory cultures.

• Set up genetic crosses.

• Perform genetic screening and assist with research procedures.

• Wash and clean bottles, fly cages, and other laboratory equipment.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

Requirements:

• Laboratory work experience is desirable but not required.

• Fast learner who can quickly acquire new laboratory skills.

• Enthusiastic about biology, genetics, or scientific research.

• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow instructions carefully.

• Reliable, responsible, and willing to learn.

• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with accuracy and consistency.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM–5:00 PM
Position Type: Part-Time (17.5 hours per week)
