LAB TECHNICIAN (ROAD CONSTRUCTION)

About the role

Perform laboratory testing on construction materials and carry out field testing activities to ensure quality compliance with applicable standards and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing on construction materials, including soil testing (Moisture Content, Atterberg Limits, Sieve Analysis, Proctor Compaction, CBR, etc.)
• Perform aggregate testing (Sieve Analysis, ACV, AIV, Los Angeles Abrasion, Flakiness Index, Water Absorption, etc.)
• Perform concrete testing (Slump Test, Concrete Cube Casting, Compressive Strength Test, Density Test, etc.)
• Perform asphalt/bituminous testing (Marshall Stability, Bitumen Extraction, Penetration Test, Softening Point, etc.)
• Collect, identify, label, and preserve material samples from project sites in accordance with approved procedures
• Carry out field testing activities, including field density tests, compaction tests, slump tests, and other required site quality tests
• Ensure all testing is performed in accordance with applicable standards, specifications, and approved testing procedures (JKR, ASTM, BS, MS, or project requirements)
• Record, verify, and maintain accurate testing data and laboratory records
• Prepare laboratory test reports and submit results to the Laboratory Supervisor or QA/QC Engineer within the required timeframe
• Operate, maintain, clean, and properly store laboratory equipment and testing instruments
