Labor Relations Manager

Are you a labor relations professional with hands-on experience working in unionized environments? We are seeking an experienced Labor Relations Consultant to support a large and complex workforce. This is a contract opportunity that is primarily remote, with occasional onsite meetings required in the Bay Area.

This role requires demonstrated labor relations experience, including collective bargaining agreement interpretation, grievance management, and advising leaders on labor-related matters.

While employee relations work is also part of the position, candidates must have a strong labor relations background. Employee relations experience alone will not be sufficient.

Key Responsibilities

Advise leaders and HR teams on labor relations matters within a unionized environment.

Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements.

Manage grievances, disciplinary matters, investigations, and conflict resolution.

Partner with stakeholders on complex employee relations issues.

Support organizational change initiatives, workforce restructuring, and layoff-related activities.

One area of focus may include serving as a subject matter expert on layoffs, reductions in force, and workforce transition programs.

Provide practical, business-focused guidance while ensuring compliance with labor laws and internal policies.

Qualifications

Proven labor relations experience in a unionized environment.

Strong experience interpreting collective bargaining agreements and managing grievances.

Experience supporting labor negotiations and labor-management relations.

Strong employee relations background, including workplace investigations and conflict resolution.

Ability to manage sensitive and high-profile workforce issues with sound judgment.

Excellent communication, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.

California labor relations experience is highly preferred.
