Laboratory Assistant

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Conduct laboratory and field testing of concrete and construction materials to ensure product quality.

-Perform concrete slump tests to determine the workability and consistency of fresh concrete.

-Prepare, mold, label, cure, and monitor concrete test specimens according to established procedures.

-Assist in conducting compressive strength tests on concrete samples.

-Collect, handle, and test concrete and aggregate samples in accordance with testing procedures.

-Record test results, measurements, observations, and laboratory computations accurately.

-Prepare daily laboratory reports, test result summaries, and other quality control documents.

-Maintain organized records of concrete samples, testing schedules, and laboratory results.

-Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety policies.

Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or management.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS / QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or any related science or technical course.

EXPERIENCE

At least 1–2 years of experience in laboratory operations, quality control, or material testing. Experience in concrete testing or ready-mix concrete operations is an advantage.

SKILLS / CORE COMPETENCIES

• Laboratory Testing Knowledge: Familiarity with concrete testing, sample preparation, curing procedures, and quality control methods.
• Technical Skills: Ability to operate laboratory equipment, testing machines, and measuring instruments properly.
• Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in measurements, calculations, data interpretation, and basic data analysis.
• Documentation Skills: Ability to prepare accurate laboratory reports and maintain organized testing records.
• Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other basic office applications.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accuracy in sample preparation, testing procedures, measurements, and results.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify inconsistencies and report potential concrete quality issues.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage samples, testing schedules, laboratory equipment, and documentation efficiently.
• Integrity and Reliability: Honest, trustworthy, responsible, and committed to following established procedures.
• Teamwork and Communication: Ability to coordinate effectively with the batching plant, production, operations, and quality control teams.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Pay: Php16,000.00 - Php18,000.00 per month
