LABORATORY ASSISTANT (MICROBIAL ANALYSIS)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing and analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, water samples, and environmental monitoring samples.
• Prepare microbiological media, reagents, and laboratory consumables required for testing.
• Conduct sample preparation, microbial culturing, incubation, and colony counting.
• Record, compile, and maintain laboratory data and test results accurately.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated, cleaned, and maintained in good working condition.
• Assist in investigating out-of-specification (OOS) or abnormal microbiological results.
• Follow laboratory SOPs, quality procedures, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, housekeeping, and biosafety requirements.
• Assist during internal and external audits when required.
• Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Applied Science, Biological Science, Food Science, or related fields.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of microbiological testing techniques and laboratory practices.
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques, microbial culturing, and laboratory equipment is an added advantage.
• Able to perform laboratory work with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
