Laboratory Operations Manager

The flagship test, Mind.Px, uses a dermal biomarker patch and Machine Learning to predict a patient’s receptivity to costly psoriasis biologic therapies, helping payers avoid unnecessary spend. Mind.Px is the first in a planned pipeline of tests focused on biologic receptivity for conditions such as psoriatic arthritis and eczema, offering growth opportunities for team members interested in innovative diagnostics and personalized medicine.

Role Description The Laboratory Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Vista, CA, responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities in a clinical laboratory environment. This role ensures consistent, high-quality test processing for products such as Mind.Px by optimizing and managing workflows, supervising laboratory staff, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety standards. The Laboratory Operations Manager coordinates the use, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, oversees inventory and supply management, and implements quality control procedures to support accurate and reliable test results. This position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality, and commercial operations, to support process improvements, scale operations, and meet turnaround-time and performance goals.

Qualifications

• PhD from a top tier institution in molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering or related field .
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience in a research or product development team.
• Strong laboratory skills and hands-on experience working in a clinical or molecular diagnostics laboratory environment.
• Strong knowledge of NGS technologies, PCR/qPCR, and statistical data analysis.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and regulations, with a track record of fostering a safe and compliant workplace.
• Experience managing and maintaining laboratory equipment, including calibration, troubleshooting, and vendor coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities, with experience supervising and developing laboratory staff.
• Familiarity with CLIA, CAP, or equivalent regulatory standards and laboratory documentation best practices.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, innovative environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Location

This position will be based in Vista, California and will be primarily an office based, Monday-Friday position. 

It is expected that you will be physically present in the Company’s Vista office, subject to any applicable flexible working policies in place and the business needs of your team, which are subject to change at the Company’s discretion.

Expected Compensation $150,000-$175,000 base salary plus performance bonus and stock options.
