Laboratory Supervisor

Job Summary

We are looking for a Laboratory Supervisor who will oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensure accurate and reliable testing results, and maintain compliance with applicable laboratory standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily laboratory operations and ensure efficient workflow.
• Oversee laboratory testing, analysis, and quality control activities.
• Review and verify laboratory test results, reports, and documentation.
• Ensure proper handling, preparation, storage, and disposal of samples and laboratory materials.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate laboratory personnel.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs, quality procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain proper laboratory records and documentation.
• Monitor laboratory equipment, supplies, and calibration/maintenance schedules.
• Investigate testing issues, non-conformities, and other laboratory concerns and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with management and other departments regarding laboratory operations and requirements.
• Ensure the laboratory maintains a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
• Perform other laboratory-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Licensed Chemist (RCh) – required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Preferably with experience in laboratory supervision/management, particularly in environmental, wastewater, water, or related testing laboratories.
• Knowledge of laboratory quality management systems, SOPs, and quality control procedures.
• Experience in laboratory testing, documentation, and preparation of technical reports is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Able to supervise laboratory personnel and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Willing to work on-site in Quezon City.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with environmental laboratory testing is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with water/wastewater analysis and applicable environmental regulations is an advantage.
• Experience with ISO/IEC 17025 or laboratory accreditation requirements is a plus.
