Laboratory Technician

Location: Manila Water Treatment Plant, Sitio Kaysakat 1, Barangay San Jose, Antipolo City
Work Arrangement: Full-time, On-site

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory and field testing of construction materials such as concrete, soil, aggregates, and asphalt.
• Perform sampling, testing, inspection, and basic evaluation of materials based on project specifications and applicable standards.
• Prepare and maintain accurate test reports, laboratory records, and technical documentation.
• Operate, inspect, clean, and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
• Assist in equipment calibration and ensure testing instruments are properly maintained.
• Coordinate with QA/QC personnel, site engineers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers regarding material testing and quality.
• Identify non-conforming materials or test results and report findings to the supervisor or QA/QC team.
• Follow proper laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and project requirements.
• Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe laboratory and testing area.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Associate's degree, or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• Licensed Engineer or relevant certification is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Experience in laboratory testing, construction materials testing, QA/QC, or construction is an advantage but not required for fresh graduates.
• Basic knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, PNS, and construction material testing procedures is preferred.
• Familiarity with concrete, soil, aggregate, or asphalt testing is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Willing to work on-site and travel to project locations when required.
