Laboratory Technician

Job Overview

Max Private Label is a growing beauty and personal care product company that manufactures and distributes products throughout the United States and worldwide, including markets across Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our laboratory team. This position will support product testing, quality evaluation, formulation, laboratory testing, equipment calibration, stability testing, and documentation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the hair care, skin care, cosmetics, or beauty products industry.

Responsibilities

• Receive and test raw materials, in-process materials, laboratory samples, and finished batches.
• Perform routine laboratory testing, wet chemistry, microbiological testing, and other applicable quality tests.
• Evaluate laboratory samples and cosmetic formulations to ensure products meet established specifications.
• Assist with batch adjustments when required and release batches when testing parameters are within specifications.
• Formulate and modify products according to manufacturing requirements and established formulas.
• Conduct stability testing and document results.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, test results, calibration records, formulations and other technical documentation.
• Perform and document routine calibration and verification of laboratory equipment.
• Maintain laboratory files and electronic records in an organized and accurate manner.
• Safeguard approved formulas, batch cards, specifications, and other confidential R&D information.
• Evaluate current testing procedures and assist with improving laboratory methods and processes.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and proper handling of chemicals and laboratory materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Laboratory Equipment Experience

Candidates should have experience with the calibration, operation, or routine verification of applicable laboratory equipment, including:

• HPLC
• GC
• FTIR
• Spectrophotometer
• pH Meter
• Viscosity Meter
• Electronic Balance
• Incubator

Qualifications & Requirements

• 2 years+ of college experience in Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field preferred.
• 1–3 years of laboratory experience, preferably within the cosmetics, personal care, hair care, or skin care industry.
• Hands-on experience with cosmetic formulation and evaluation of laboratory samples.
• Familiarity with cosmetic ingredients, including INCI names and commercial/trade names.
• Ability to perform wet chemistry and routine laboratory testing; training may be provided for company-specific procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Industry Experience Required: Candidates must have experience working with hair care, skin care, cosmetic, personal care, or beauty products.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
