Laboratory Technician

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in any Allied Health-related course.
• Preferably with relevant experience in laboratory operations and equipment handling.
• Knowledgeable in laboratory procedures, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
• Familiar with inventory management, recordkeeping, and preparation of laboratory materials and supplies.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Responsible, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Assists in the preparation of instructional materials including chemical solution, equipment and laboratory supplies.
• Aids in the inventory of laboratory equipment and materials.
• Assists in maintaining the orderliness of the laboratory.
• Assists in checking if items used or borrowed are complete and in proper conditioned when returned.
• Assists in updating previous records in laboratory to determine the additional supplies to request or item to be replaced or repair.
• Assists in evaluating the total number of incurred breakages/damages/losses in the laboratory during the semester.
• Aids in securing the laboratory rooms by opening and closing them.
• Assists in checking and making sure that the gas valve, faucets, lockers, windows, doors are closed to safeguard the laboratory facilities.
• Aids in maintaining the condition of the laboratory items by conducting general cleaning, lubricating and changing dilapidated labels on the equipment.
• Assists in determining the materials immediately required in the laboratory and those not available in the dispensing area.
• Performed other functions that may be designated by the Immediate Head.
