Laboratory Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our growing laboratory team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing DNA extraction and PCR workflows on clinical patient samples, and supporting the laboratory operations team as needed. We are looking for a candidate who will thrive in a fast-paced environment and is willing to learn and master new skills. While clinical laboratory experience is a plus, a candidate with a college degree in an applicable biological science and a willingness to learn laboratory methods quickly would be accepted.

Duties

• Clinical sample management
• Performing sample DNA extraction using Thermo KingFisher automated extraction platform
• Performing PCR using Thermo QuantStudio PCR platform
• Miscellaneous laboratory tasks such as decontaminating laboratory equipment and preparing reagents
• Other duties as assigned

Experience

• Manual pipetting experience is recommended when applying, such as experience with Thermo Multi-Channel ClipTip systems or other comparable systems.
• Clinical laboratory experience with a focus on molecular techniques such as PCR and DNA extraction, and microbiology techniques.
• Experience working in research laboratories or clinical settings is highly desirable.
• Ability to learn, understand, and follow all laboratory standard operating procedures.
• Ability to learn complex workflows and follow them with the utmost integrity.
• A track record of reliability is a must.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
