Laboratory Technician

Our MLT is responsible for supporting the mission of the hospital which includes the provision of the highest quality care and service to all of its customers. The medical lab technician demonstrates the ability to competently perform, problem solve and report a variety of lab procedures in the areas of Hematology, Immunohematology, Serology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Microbiology and Urinalysis with little to no supervision. Must also demonstrate competency in specimen collection, performance of QC, equipment maintenance ,participation in quality assurance and performance improvement activities and other duties.

Requirements:

• Associates degree in Medical Lab Technology or one of the basic sciences with documented formal clinical laboratory training or equivalent as defined by CLIA
• Certification as a Medical Lab Technician by a Nationally recognized certifying agency MLT (ASCP), AMT, ISCLT, HHS (HEW), or CLS (NCA)
• Basic Knowledge of a wide variety of clinical laboratory procedures, quality control, maintenance of equipment, management techniques and competence in the use of verbal and written English.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work activities

Education:

• Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

• Medical Laboratory: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• MLT Certification (Required)
• CPR Certification (Preferred)
