LABORATORY TECHNICIAN – QUALITY CONTROL (QC)

Location: Bukit Minyak, Penang
Contract: 1 Year (Oct 2026 – Oct 2027)
Working Hours:
Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Saturday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Start Date: October 2026
Permanent Conversion: Subject to performance

Job Responsibilities

• Perform daily product analysis and laboratory testing according to required specifications and quality standards.
• Operate laboratory analyzers and conduct analytical testing accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and analyzers to ensure optimal operating condition.
• Perform scheduled calibration of gas chromatographs and other analytical equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of product analysis, test results, calibration activities and quality control documentation.
• Ensure proper traceability and safekeeping of laboratory and calibration records for audit and compliance purposes.
• Support quality control activities and ensure compliance with established quality procedures and standards.
• Assist in on-site meetings, inspections, investigations and other quality-related activities when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Science or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in a laboratory, quality control or chemical testing environment.
• Experience in laboratory testing, product analysis or analyzer operation.
• Experience with Gas Chromatography (GC) or other analytical equipment is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of equipment calibration and laboratory maintenance.
• Good understanding of Quality Assurance and quality acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System is an advantage.
• Good analytical, communication and documentation skills.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proficient in MS Office / Google Workspace.
• Willing to travel outstation across Malaysia occasionally.
• Possess own transport is preferable.

Suitable Candidates

Candidates with backgrounds in Laboratory, Quality Control, Chemical Testing, Chemistry, Chemical Analysis or Analytical Testing, with hands-on experience operating laboratory equipment, analyzers or conducting product testing.
