Laborer

JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Performs general labor duties in support of utility and civil construction operations. Assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of utility infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs physical labor tasks including digging, trenching, shoveling, loading and unloading materials, setting structures, and site cleanup
• Assists with job site setup, maintenance, and breakdown
• Follows directions from the Foreman or Site Supervisor to support daily project activities
• Safely operates hand tools and equipment in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards
• Works effectively as part of a crew in fast-paced outdoor environments
• Maintains accurate timesheets and daily work records
• Drive to and from job sites
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor
• Complies with all safety rules, procedures, and regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age by the start date of employment
• OSHA 10‑Hour Certification required at time of hire or within 90 days thereafter.
• 3 years experience in utilities, telecommunications, civil construction, or related field (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Commercial Driver License or willingness to obtain (preferred)
• Ability to pass a drug test, background check, and medical card evaluation.
• Knowledge of basic construction safety practices
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English related to job duties and safety requirements.
