Laborer

Primis Contracting Inc. is seeking hardworking, dependable, and safety-focused Laborers to join our growing construction team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of commercial and industrial construction projects, including concrete tilt-up buildings, shell structures, formwork, and site development projects throughout the Edmonton area.The ideal candidate is physically fit, motivated, and eager to contribute to a professional construction environment. Working alongside experienced supervisors, tradespeople, and project teams, you will play a key role in supporting daily site operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site preparation, setup, and cleanup on commercial and industrial construction projects
• Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment
• Support concrete, formwork, and tilt-up construction activities as directed
• Assist skilled tradespeople with construction tasks and project requirements
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Perform excavation, grading, material handling, and general labor duties
• Install and remove temporary structures, barricades, and safety equipment
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Follow project plans, site instructions, and safety procedures
• Participate in daily safety meetings and site inspections
• Identify and report safety hazards, incidents, or concerns to supervisors
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors, subcontractors, and project teams
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Site Superintendent, Project Manager, or Construction Manager

Qualifications & Requirements

• 1-3 years of construction experience preferred, particularly in commercial, industrial, concrete, or civil construction environments
• Experience with concrete work, formwork, tilt-up construction, or general site labor is considered an asset
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move heavy materials
• Familiarity with construction tools, equipment, and safe work practices
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team environment
• Understanding of workplace safety requirements and safe construction practices
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, Fall Protection, and/or Elevated Work Platform certifications are considered assets

Additional Details

• Must be available Monday to Saturday
• Overtime may be required based on project schedules
• Travel may be required to multiple project sites throughout the Edmonton area
• Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications
