Laborer

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Laborer to assist the village in the following duties: participate in the repair, construction, maintenance and improvements of streets, inlets, sidewalks, driveway approaches, alleys, tree lawns, trees upon Village property and rights-of-way, the exteriors of Village buildings and the grounds of the Village and provide general minor maintenance and upkeep to the interiors of Village buildings. The position requires that the employee operate equipment and perform manual tasks as a part of the maintenance and street crews to the Village. This position is a part-time position. This position will be approximately 29 hours per week. There will be no health insurance but employees do earn sick and vacation time and will have paid holidays. Other job duties may include snow removal and plowing, operating village vehicles and equipment; respond to after hours weather and other emergency situations as required; report regularly to the maintenance supervisor on the progress of activities assigned; trimming and cutting small trees, installing and repairing street signage; provide general construction for limited projects; clean out debris from catch basins, perform preventative and remedial maintenance on village equipment; install, improve and maintain storm sewer lines; and perform such other functions as are assigned by the Village Maintenance Supervisor.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 29.0 per week
