Job Title: Part-Time Laborer
Department: Public Works
Reports To: Public Works Director
Hours: 20–32 hours per week

Position Summary
The City of New Castle is seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to fill a part-time Laborer position in the Public Works Department. This role supports daily operations by assisting both the streets crew and grass crew in maintaining city infrastructure and public spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the streets crew with road maintenance, patching, and general repairs
• Support the grass crew with mowing, trimming, and upkeep of public and city properties
• Perform general labor duties including lifting, loading, and unloading materials
• Operate basic hand tools and small equipment safely
• Assist other Public Works staff as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Working Conditions
This position involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions and requires physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

Compensation
$10.00 per hour
