Laborer/Sorter

Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Laborer/Sorter and play a vital role in maintaining efficient waste management and recycling operations. In this you will be responsible for sorting recyclable materials, cleaning and maintenace, and other manual labor tasks. Your efforts will contribute to sustainable practices and diversion of materials from the landfill. This role offers an engaging environment where safety, teamwork, and environmental responsibility are at the forefront of daily operations.

Duties

• Sort recyclable materials from waste streams accurately, adhering to recycling protocols and hazardous materials regulations.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of processing equipment and facility.
• Pick up site litter
• Follow safety regulations by using personal protective equipment (PPE), adhering to safety protocols, and reporting hazards promptly.
• Perform outdoor work in various weather conditions, ensuring proper sanitation and cleanliness standards are maintained throughout the facility
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina for outdoor work environments.
• Familiarity with safety regulations including PPE use, hazard identification, and emergency response procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail for sorting recyclable materials accurately and efficiently.
• Good communication skills to follow instructions clearly and work effectively within a team dedicated to safety and environmental responsibility.T
• This position is an excellent entry level opportunity for motivated individuals and provides a pathway to advance to other positions such as Line Lead, Driver, and Heavy Equipment Operator.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
