Casual Container Repairers & Labourers – Hastings

Immediate Start | Casual Work | Ongoing Hours Available

We are looking for casual Container Repairers and Labourers to join our Hastings container yard.

If you’re reliable, practical and happy working with your hands, we want to hear from you.

We have two types of casual work available:

Container Repairers

We are looking for people with hands-on repair experience to carry out work on shipping containers.

Work may include:

• Container repairs and maintenance
• Cutting and grinding
• Welding and fabrication
• Replacing container components
• Door, floor and structural repairs
• Assisting with container modifications

Previous container repair experience is ideal, but we will also consider people with experience in:

• Welding or fabrication
• Engineering
• Building
• Mechanical work
• Panel beating
• General repairs and maintenance

Labourers

We are also looking for reliable casual labourers to help with general yard and container work.

Work may include:

• Water-blasting containers
• Buffing, grinding and preparation work
• Interior and exterior painting
• General yard work
• Manual handling
• Assisting repairers
• Helping with container modifications
• Keeping the yard clean and organised

You don’t need container experience for the labouring work. We can train the right people on the job.

Some experience using tools or doing practical, hands-on work would be an advantage.

What We Need From You

• Reliable and punctual
• Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work
• Good work ethic
• Positive, can-do attitude
• Able to work safely
• Comfortable working outdoors
• Able to work as part of a team
• Willing to learn

Forklift, hoist, welding, fabrication or heavy vehicle licences are an advantage, but not essential for labouring roles.

What We Offer

• Casual work with flexible hours
• Immediate start
• Competitive hourly rates based on experience
• Opportunity for regular and ongoing hours
• On-the-job training
• Free on-site parking
• Work with a team with 35+ years of container industry experience
• Kiwi family-owned and operated business

Our yard normally operates Monday to Friday, approximately 7:00am–5:00pm, with Saturday work available when required.

Casual shifts will depend on workload and your availability.

Successful applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand and must pass pre-employment drug testing and police checks.
