Our ambition is to become Scotland’s most trusted and respected home-energy company, recognised for putting people first, working as one team and delivering every service with uncompromising safety and quality.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, supports colleagues and treats every customer’s home with care. You will understand that reliability, clear communication and attention to detail help the whole team deliver a successful installation.

  • Keep tools and materials organised and accessible to the installation team.
  • Maintain clear access routes and keep work areas free from avoidable hazards.
  • Collect, separate and remove packaging and installation waste as directed.
  • Help clean and make work areas tidy throughout the job and before customer handover.
  • Report damaged materials, missing equipment, hazards or other concerns promptly.
  • Follow instructions, company procedures and relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Use tools, equipment and personal protective equipment correctly, following training.
  • Undertake any work at height only where trained, authorised and provided with appropriate safety measures.
  • Represent The Edinburgh Boiler Company professionally in every customer interaction.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • A strong work ethic and a dependable approach to attendance and timekeeping.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new practical skills.
  • The ability to follow instructions carefully and ask for guidance when unsure.
  • The ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
  • A responsible approach to safety and willingness to report concerns.
  • The ability to undertake the practical tasks involved, using safe handling methods and appropriate equipment.
  • Good communication skills and a respectful approach when working in customers’ homes.
  • Care when handling tools, materials and customers’ property.
  • Flexibility to support changing site requirements and work outdoors when conditions are safe.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous labouring, construction or installation-support experience.
  • Experience using basic hand tools safely.
  • Experience working in occupied residential properties.
  • Relevant health and safety training or certification.
  • An interest in solar PV, renewable energy or developing a trade.
  • A full UK driving licence, although this is not essential.

What Success Looks Like

  • Installation teams receive reliable and timely practical support.
  • Materials, tools and equipment are handled safely and available when needed.
  • Work areas remain clean, organised and safe throughout each installation.
  • Customers’ homes and belongings are treated with care.

  • Company uniform and appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Training and ongoing development, with no previous solar installation experience required.
  • An opportunity to build practical skills and explore a career in heating and renewable energy.
  • Opportunities to progress as your skills, experience and suitable vacancies develop.
