Labourer - Full Time

Artifex Homes is looking for a reliable and hardworking Labourer / Driver to support our construction team across our residential projects throughout Hertfordshire.

This is a varied role combining driving, material collections and deliveries, general labouring and keeping our sites clean, tidy and organised.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving between our construction sites and builders' merchants throughout Hertfordshire.
• Collecting building materials, tools and supplies and delivering them to the correct sites.
• Loading and unloading materials safely.
• Visiting builders' merchants regularly, so a good knowledge of local merchants and their locations is important.
• Understanding common building materials and being confident identifying and collecting the correct products.
• Liaising with Site Managers and Project Managers regarding materials required on site.
• General labouring duties as required.
• Keeping building sites clean, tidy and organised.
• Clearing waste and moving materials around sites.
• Helping ensure materials are stored safely and correctly.
• Assisting tradespeople with basic tasks where required.
• Looking after the company vehicle and keeping it clean and presentable.
• Representing Artifex Homes professionally when dealing with suppliers, clients and members of the public.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Be confident driving around Hertfordshire on a daily basis.
• Have previous experience working within the construction industry.
• Have a good knowledge of building materials and be comfortable navigating builders' merchants.
• Ideally know the main builders' merchants and suppliers throughout Hertfordshire.
• Be physically fit and comfortable lifting and moving building materials.
• Be organised and able to manage several collections and deliveries throughout the day.
• Be reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Have a positive attitude and be willing to help wherever required.
• Be able to work independently and use initiative.
• Understand the importance of keeping construction sites clean, safe and professional.

This is a self employed position and pay is subject to experience.

Pay: £32,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
