What they need

Job Summary

At Custom Cubes, we are not a typical production shop. We are building a high-performance, organized, and safety-driven production environment as we scale rapidly. Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the Labourer / Material Handler plays a critical support role on our Shop Floor by ensuring materials, equipment, and completed components are moved, staged, and organized safely and efficiently throughout the facility. This role is ideal for someone with strong forklift experience who takes pride in operating equipment safely, maintaining organization, and helping the production team stay productive. Beyond material handling, this role contributes to improving how we work by supporting our 5S and continuous improvement initiatives to build a cleaner, safer, and more efficient shop.

What You Will Do Every Day

  • Operate forklifts to move steel, fabrication materials, equipment, and finished components safely.
  • Keep workstations supplied so the welding and fabrication teams never have to wait.
  • Load and unload trucks, handle receiving, and verify inbound material quantities and documentation.
  • Keep the yard and shop organized by maintaining designated storage locations.
  • Operate metal cutting equipment and prep materials for production.
  • Help drive our 5S initiatives to maintain a clean, safe, and highly efficient workspace.

What You Need to Bring

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid forklift certification and at least 2 years of practical operating experience in an industrial, construction, logistics, or fabrication environment.
  • A strong understanding of load safety and material handling procedures.
  • The ability to work independently and juggle multiple priorities across different departments.
  • A reliable, team-first attitude and strong attention to detail.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience handling long steel products, oversized loads, or shipping containers.
  • A background working around welding, fabrication, or custom-build operations.
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking and material control systems.

Why Custom Cubes?

This isn't a dead-end warehouse job. You are directly involved in custom fabrication projects, and every day brings different priorities. We reward strong performers with clear paths to advance into roles like Lead Hand, Logistics Coordinator, Warehouse Lead, or Supervisor. We are actively building a better, safer shop, and we want you to help us shape it.
