About the role

NQ Estimating & Civil Services is seeking a Labourer/Roller Operator on a casual basis to join our dynamic team in Western qld on a 2/1 roster. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work on varied civil construction projects, where you'll contribute directly to the successful completion of infrastructure and construction works. Whether you're supporting general labouring duties or operating compacting equipment, you'll be an integral part of our on-site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general labouring duties on civil construction sites, including site preparation, material handling, and debris removal
• Operate compacting and rolling equipment to prepare and compact surfaces for construction works
• Assist in the setup and maintenance of work sites in accordance with safety standards and company procedures
• Support tradespeople and supervisors with tasks as assigned, ensuring efficient workflow on site
• Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any mechanical issues promptly
• Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations on construction sites
• Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a labourer or roller operator in the construction or civil works industry
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between sites as required
• Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour tasks
• Competency or willingness to obtain certification in operating compacting and rolling equipment
• A strong commitment to health and safety practices on construction sites
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work
• Experience with site induction procedures and safety protocols is advantageous
• Concrete experience is advantageous
