Lakehouse Architect / Databricks SME

For our client, we are seeking a Lakehouse Architect / Databricks SME to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space.

This role will shape the architecture of a modern cloud-based data platform and guide how analytical teams consume, govern, and optimize enterprise data.

You will lead the design of lakehouse capabilities, storage patterns, and metadata structures that support a wide range of analytical and advanced modeling needs.

In close partnership with data, analytics, and engineering stakeholders, you will help modernize workflows and solve complex architecture challenges in a remote environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $114,600 – $252,100 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of a data lakehouse platform using Azure technologies
• Architect tiered storage zones with data quality and governance controls
• Design environment configurations for optimal analytical workload performance
• Implement metadata management and SQL-accessible data structures
• Support diverse analytical models including machine learning and geospatial analytics
• Modernize analyst workflows from local to cloud-based environments
• Provide technical expertise for complex data architecture challenges

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 15 years of experience in a related field; equivalent experience considered
• Deep expertise in Azure Databricks and lakehouse solutions
• Proven experience with enterprise data platforms for diverse analytical workloads
• Strong background in various data modeling paradigms
• Extensive hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake Storage and performance optimization
