Duties
- Operate surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS systems, 3D scanners, LiDAR, and field data collectors to perform accurate land measurements.

- Perform topographic surveys, ALTA surveys (American Land Title Association), and boundary surveys with precision.
- Locate underground utilities using utility locating tools and techniques to prevent damage during construction activities.
- Collect and analyze survey data using CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation) and GIS platforms like ArcGIS for drafting detailed maps and schematics.
- Assist with land development projects by preparing legal descriptions, schematics, and construction plans using Revit, Carlson, or similar drafting tools.
- Support survey crews in field operations including setting levels, operating total stations, and performing construction staking with heavy lifting as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of survey data, field notes, sketches, and reports for project documentation and quality assurance.
Experience
- Proven experience in land surveying or civil engineering environments with familiarity in field surveying techniques.
- Strong knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and math principles essential for precise measurements and calculations.
- Hands-on experience operating surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS/GNSS systems (Trimble GNSS), laser scanners (LiDAR), and hand tools.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D), GIS applications (ArcGIS), and drafting programs like Revit or MicroStation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with construction layout surveys, construction staking, legal descriptions, schematics, and topographic mapping.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong data collection skills combined with analytical abilities for processing survey information effectively.
- Physical capacity for heavy lifting and outdoor work in varying weather conditions; comfort working on construction sites or rough terrain is essential.
