Job Summary

VX Studio Consultancy is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Land Surveyor to perform surveying activities for construction and development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting accurate site surveys, establishing survey controls, verifying dimensions and levels, and providing reliable survey data to support design and construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct topographical, boundary, construction, and engineering surveys at project sites.
• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference coordinates.
• Carry out setting-out works for buildings, roads, structures, foundations, utilities, and other construction elements.
• Verify coordinates, elevations, dimensions, alignments, and levels against approved drawings and specifications.
• Conduct as-built surveys and prepare accurate survey records and documentation.
• Read and interpret engineering, architectural, structural, and infrastructure drawings.
• Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including Total Station, GPS/GNSS, Auto Level, and related instruments.
• Collect, record, process, and analyze survey data accurately.
• Prepare and review survey reports, calculations, sketches, and relevant documentation.
• Work closely with engineers, architects, project managers, site supervisors, and contractors to resolve surveying issues.
• Identify discrepancies between site conditions and approved drawings and report them to the relevant project team.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved coordinates, levels, and dimensions.
• Conduct regular checks on survey instruments and ensure equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
• Maintain proper records of survey data, measurements, benchmarks, and site activities.
• Assist with quantity verification and measurements where required.
• Ensure all surveying activities comply with project specifications, applicable standards, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with project teams and external surveyors where required.
• Perform other surveying-related duties as assigned by the project management team.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in land surveying, preferably within construction, engineering consultancy, infrastructure, or major development projects.
• Strong experience in construction setting-out and as-built surveying.
• Proficiency in operating Total Station, GPS/GNSS, Auto Level, and other surveying equipment.
• Good knowledge of surveying principles, coordinate systems, levels, and measurements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural, and structural drawings.
• Experience with surveying and CAD software; knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar software is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction surveying procedures and site practices.
• Ability to prepare accurate survey reports and maintain detailed records.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements on construction sites.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• UAE/GCC project experience is an advantage.
