Role Description

This contract Landscape Designer role is a hybrid position based in Kathmandu, with a mix of on-site project work and some work-from-home flexibility.

The Landscape Designer will develop design concepts for outdoor spaces, prepare detailed drawings, and create planting plans and hardscape layouts aligned with client requirements and site conditions. Daily tasks include collaborating with project teams, conducting site visits and assessments, coordinating with architects and engineers, and preparing visual presentations and documentation.

The role also involves reviewing designs for feasibility, sustainability, and safety, supporting project estimates, and adapting plans based on feedback from clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Landscape Design and Landscaping, with experience creating functional and visually appealing outdoor spaces.
• Knowledge of Landscape Architecture principles, including site planning, grading, and integration with built environments.
• Ability to develop Hardscape concepts and details, such as paths, patios, retaining walls, and outdoor structures.
• Skill in creating comprehensive Planting Plans, including plant selection, layout, and maintenance considerations.
• Experience using design and drafting tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, GIS, or similar) for landscape documentation.
• Understanding of local climate, soil conditions, and sustainable landscape practices relevant to Kathmandu and surrounding regions.
• Strong visual communication skills, including the ability to produce clear drawings, renderings, and presentations.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Relevant education in landscape architecture, landscape design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
