Landscape Designer/Drafter

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Landscape Designer/Drafter to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape outdoor spaces through creative design and precise technical drafting. You will collaborate closely with clients, architects, and construction teams to develop sustainable, visually stunning landscapes that meet project goals and environmental standards. Duties

• Develop detailed landscape design concepts using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and MicroStation, ensuring accuracy and clarity for construction documentation.
• Create compelling renderings and hand-drawn illustrations using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, and other graphic design tools to visualize project ideas effectively.
• Produce precise construction drawings and technical specifications for hardscape elements like patios, walkways, retaining walls, and irrigation systems.
• Utilize 3D modeling software such as Rhinoceros 3D and SketchUp to develop realistic visualizations of landscape proposals.
• Incorporate sustainable design principles and environmental considerations into project development while adhering to client requirements and local regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers on cost estimation, scheduling, and resource planning to ensure timely project delivery.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members throughout all phases of design development and implementation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in landscape architecture or landscape drafting with a strong portfolio showcasing design development and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and Rhino 3D; familiarity with GIS tools like ArcView or ArcGIS is a plus.
• Skilled in rendering techniques using Adobe Photoshop and other graphic design software; capable of producing high-quality visual presentations.
• Knowledge of horticulture practices, land surveying, irrigation systems, hardscape construction, and landscaping maintenance.
• Ability to produce hand-drawn sketches and conceptual illustrations that communicate ideas clearly.
• Construction experience including understanding of construction documentation, estimating, and project management processes.
• Strong understanding of sustainable landscape design principles combined with civil engineering concepts where applicable.
• Excellent communication skills for client presentations and team collaboration; detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
