Position Title: Landscape Estimator
Location: Trussville, AL (report daily to company office)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Landscape Estimator to join our team. The Landscape Estimator is responsible for reviewing plans and specifications, performing site visits, preparing accurate cost estimates, and developing competitive bids for commercial and residential landscape projects. This position works closely with management, clients, vendors, and field operations to ensure projects are estimated accurately and profitably.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform site visits to assess existing conditions and project requirements.
• Prepare detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project costs.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop and submit proposals, bids, and budget estimates.
• Track bid opportunities and maintain estimating schedules.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and client consultations as needed.
• Coordinate project handoff meetings with operations staff upon award of contracts.
• Maintain current knowledge of labor rates, material costs, and industry trends.
• Assist management with project budgeting, forecasting, and value-engineering recommendations.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscape estimating, construction estimating, landscaping, horticulture, or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret landscape plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with estimating software is preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel to project sites throughout Alabama as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to visit project sites and walk uneven terrain.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions during site evaluations.
