Landscape Laborer

Landscaping Crew Member

Mares Excavating & Landscape is looking for a hardworking, dependable, and motivated Landscaping Crew Memberto join our team. This position is hands-on and involves working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works well with a team, and is willing to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with landscape installation and maintenance projects
• Prepare and grade soil for landscaping projects
• Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants
• Install mulch, decorative rock, edging, and landscape materials
• Assist with patios, retaining walls, walkways, and other hardscape projects
• Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment
• Perform lawn maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and cleanup
• Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized job site
• Follow safety procedures and properly use personal protective equipment
• Work efficiently and cooperatively with other crew members
• Assist with general excavation and construction tasks as needed
• Communicate professionally with customers and team members
• Complete projects with attention to detail and pride in workmanship

Qualifications

• Previous landscaping, construction, or outdoor labor experience preferred, but willing to train the right person
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to follow directions and complete tasks efficiently
• Valid driver's license preferred

Experience with skid steers, mini excavators, zero-turn mowers, trimmers, or other landscaping/construction equipment is a plus.
