Duties

• Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, planting, and watering to promote healthy growth and visual appeal.
• Operate groundskeeping equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, power tools, irrigation systems, and snow plows safely and efficiently.
• Perform landscape installation activities like planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and installing hardscape features such as pathways or retaining walls.
• Conduct routine groundskeeping duties including debris removal, edging, fertilizing, pest management, and soil preparation.
• Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and adjusting controllers to ensure proper watering schedules.
• Identify various plants and trees to ensure proper care; apply knowledge of horticulture principles for optimal landscape health.
• Follow all safety protocols during outdoor work activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Prior outdoor work experience in landscaping, groundskeeping or related fields is highly preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment, power tools, irrigation systems, and hardscape tools is essential.
• Ability to operate lawn mowers, trimmers, snow plows, tree trimming tools, and other grounds maintenance equipment confidently.
• Strong understanding of plant identification, lawn care practices, tree care techniques, gardening methods, and pesticide management.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to landscaping operations and equipment handling.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions; ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely for quality results.
