LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE MANAGER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Development and implementation of strategies to meet client requirements and maintain a dynamic and committed continuous improvement approach.
• Be responsible for the cost effective rostering of site supervisors and the direct labour reporting to the site supervisors.
• Ensure an accurate stock-take is undertaken on a quarterly basis along with management and maintenance of all equipment.
• Establish and annually review standards and work procedures for all staff.
• Review and approval of all sales proposals before they leave the office to ensure: format correctness, cost accuracy, profitability requirements, and overall completeness and accuracy.
• Plan work schedules, hours, areas of work, and job duties to ensure adequate services are rendered to all areas.
• Participate in Interviewing, selection, hiring, evaluation, and recommending termination of personnel in accordance with company standards.
• Orientate, train, develop, and supervise of all supervisory staff under span of control.
• Regularly inspect and evaluate physical condition of equipments and facilities; recommend repairs, additions and disposals... etc.
• Provide monthly administrative progress reports relative to short term accomplishments, future short term plans and staff education/training.
• Report unsafe conditions and conduct research to improve service quality and safety standards.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and communicate with members of other departments to coordinate operational activities.
• Schedule major project work, assuring that adequate staff and supplies are available to perform said tasks.
• Maintain and support Operational goals and objectives.
• Coordinate all outside services relative to the Operation department (i.e. pest control, cleaning, medical waste, trash removal… etc)

Requirements

Experience:
4-5 years in landscape maintenance company (at least 4 years in the operational leadership roles within those companies.) Candidates that have had bottom-line profitability responsibilities will be given stronger consideration.

Educational Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Horticulture / Agriculture will be preffered. Candidates with advanced business or economics degrees will be considered if they possess the requisite landscape business experience.

Knowledge Base:
Demonstrated knowledge of all aspect of operating the day-to-day operation of a large landscape maintenance company. Working knowledge of trees, shrubs, annual plantings, plus a vast knowledge of installing and repairing automatic irrigation systems.

Proven track record in soursing and securing maintenance contracts.

Expericence in machinery procurement and management.

Excellent client relationship management.

Ability to execute small landscape projects.

The ideal candidate would also be able to take on some of the cleaning & janitorial customer load. Therefore, any additional experience in managing cleaning crews would also be advantageous.

Known Languages
Fluent English (spoken and written) plus some basic conversational Arabic are necessary.

Candidates with any knowledge of Hindi / Urdu dialects may also have distinct advantage in our evaluation.
Computer Skills:
Excellent knowledge of MS Office packages; i.e. – Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project as strong plus. Must be able to demonstrate understanding of constructing simple business operating statements using Excel.

GCC Work Experience : Absolutely required
