Landscape Operator – Landscape Construction

Selwyn District (Lincoln, Rolleston & surrounds)

Greenara is a growing residential landscape construction business working primarily across the Selwyn District, with projects in Christchurch City and beyond as required.

We’re looking for a Landscape Operator who’s confident on machinery and happy to get on the tools when the job needs it. This is not a sit-in-the-machine-all-day role. It’s about helping jobs flow, avoiding rework, and delivering quality landscapes we’re proud of.

About the role

You’ll be involved across the full landscape build process, including:

• Operating machinery for site scrapes, contouring, soil spreading and levelling
• Daily plant checks — greasing, fuelling, and keeping machines work-ready
• Earthworks, prep, and shaping to set jobs up right the first time
• Timber landscape construction (retaining walls, edging, decking, fencing)
• Concrete prep, formwork, and base preparation
• Planting, weedmat, mulch, decorative stone, and final finishes
• Working closely with the Lead Landscaper to keep jobs moving
• Helping maintain tidy, safe, professional sites

Some days you’ll be in the machine.

Some days you’ll be on the tools.

Some days it'll be both.

• Treat machinery and gear better than your own
• Understand how landscapes go together and think a few steps ahead
• Care about prep, sequencing, and avoiding rework
• Are flexible when priorities change
• Work with the team, not against it
• Take pride in tidy sites and quality finishes

If you’re only interested in machine seat time, this role won’t be the right fit.
