Landscape Professional

Position summary

You will run landscape work from the ground up: turf care, drainage, and decorative features. This is a field role for someone who already knows aeration, verticutting, drainage installs, and small hardscape/planting work—not someone we have to teach the basics.

What you will do

• Aerate lawns to the right depth, pattern, and timing for the site and season
• Verticut thatch and turf as needed so grass can recover and take seed or fertilizer
• Diagnose and install drainage: French drains, catch basins, swales, downspout tie-ins, and grade corrections
• Build and finish decorative work: small retaining walls, landscape beds, edging, and related plantings
• Prep sites, set materials, and leave a clean, finished job
• Work from work orders and mark-ups; flag issues before they become callbacks
• Coordinate with dispatch and other crews when weather or job order changes
• Use equipment and hand tools safely and keep them in working order
• Talk with clients on site in a professional, straightforward way

Experience required

• Proven field experience in aeration and verticutting
• Proven field experience in residential or light commercial drainage
• Proven field experience building small walls, beds, and similar decorative landscape features
• Able to read a simple plan or sketch and execute it without constant supervision
• Comfortable on a crew and able to lead a helper when needed

Skills

• Turf and soil judgment: when to aerate, verticut, seed, or hold off
• Drainage layout and install (pipe, fabric, stone, basins, pitch)
• Small wall and bed construction (block/stone, base prep, leveling, backfill)
• Safe operation of common landscape equipment (aerators, verticutters, compactors, saws, mini equipment a plus)
• Communication with employees, suppliers, and clients
• Basic Microsoft Office or equivalent for time, notes, and material lists
• Reliable, on-time, and able to work rain-delay and peak-season days
• Driver license and transportation to work required.

Schedule

Full-time field position. Hours follow the work and the weather. Peak spring and fall turf seasons are busier; drainage and decorative work run year-round as jobs allow.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
