Landscape Subcontractor

Waterbury Outdoor Services is seeking established landscape subcontractors, owner-operators, and crews to complete customer projects throughout Waterbury and the surrounding Naugatuck Valley / west-central Connecticut area.

This is paid, project-based 1099 subcontractor work.

This is not an hourly landscaping job or W-2 employee position.

We are especially interested in contractors with existing lawn-care, cleanup, landscape installation, property-maintenance, drainage, grading, hardscape, tree-service, or snow-removal capabilities.

Pay

Contractors receive project-based compensation established before accepted work is completed.

Typical smaller maintenance, cleanup, lawn-care, and property-service jobs may range from:

$200 to $1,500 per completed project

Larger landscape, hardscape, drainage, grading, installation, tree, or property-improvement projects may pay more based on the approved scope.

Schedule

Contractors maintain their own availability.

Work may include:

• Recurring lawn/property maintenance
• One-time landscape projects
• Weekday appointments
• Weekend work when appropriate
• Spring and fall cleanup
• Storm-related cleanup
• Winter snow and ice service

Contractors are not required to accept every project offered.

Contractor Requirements

Applicants should have:

• An operating landscaping or outdoor-property-service business or owner-operator setup
• Relevant professional field experience
• Ability to accept 1099 subcontractor work
• EIN/W-9 readiness
• Active business general liability insurance or ability to obtain required coverage before starting
• Reliable transportation
• Appropriate landscaping or property-service equipment
• Ability to complete jobs independently or with their own crew
• Professional customer communication
• Capacity for additional customer projects

Responsibilities

Contractors are responsible for:

• Supplying their own labor
• Providing necessary transportation and equipment
• Following the agreed work scope
• Arriving at scheduled projects
• Communicating professionally
• Providing requested before/after photos
• Reporting scope changes promptly
• Maintaining required insurance
• Maintaining professional job sites
• Completing accepted work reliably

Contractor Support

For accepted projects, support may include:

• Customer intake

Contractors remain responsible for completing accepted field work.
