Landscape worker

About the role

This role involves clearing, grading and preparing ground to required levels and falls for drainage, installing hardscape elements such as paving, edging, low walls, steps and landscape features, and carrying out softscape works including planting trees, shrubs, groundcover and laying turf/sod. You will assist with basic irrigation installation, compact and finish hardscape and planted areas to required standard, maintain temporary protection and site cleanliness, follow setting-out marks and landscape/civil drawings under supervisor direction, and coordinate with civil, drainage and other external works teams.

Key responsibilities

• Clear, grade and prepare ground to the required levels and falls for drainage
• Install hardscape elements (paving, edging, low walls, steps and landscape features)
• Carry out softscape works: plant trees, shrubs, groundcover and lay turf/sod
• Assist with basic irrigation installation and ensure proper coverage
• Compact, finish and clean hardscape and planted areas to the required standard
• Maintain temporary protection, site cleanliness and safe access
• Follow setting-out marks and simple landscape/civil drawings under supervisor direction
• Report progress, material needs and site issues to the supervisor daily
• Coordinate with civil, drainage and other external works teams
• Comply with all site safety rules and use required PPE at all times

About you

• Minimum 2–3 years experience in landscaping or related works
• TESDA Certificate (related to the trade) – REQUIRED
• Experience in softscape works (planting, turf)
• Experience in hardscape works (paving, basic walls)
• Knowledge of ground preparation, grading and drainage
• Able to follow simple drawings and supervisor instructions
• Deliver quality hardscape and softscape work
• Work safely, productively, and reliably as part of a team
• Follow drawings, instructions, and safety standards at all times
