Lap Machine Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lap Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining lap machines, ensuring precise fabrication and assembly of components. Your expertise in CNC programming, mechanical blueprint reading, and industrial equipment troubleshooting will drive efficiency and quality in our production processes. Duties

• Operate lap machines and related CNC equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and press brake machines to produce precision parts.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing documents to set up and adjust machinery accurately.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy and ensure compliance with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
• Program and troubleshoot CNC systems using Fanuc controls, CAM programming, and CAD software to optimize machining processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment by following safety standards in production, handling materials properly, and using hand tools and tooling correctly.
• Conduct regular machine inspections, perform basic maintenance, and troubleshoot industrial equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Assist with materials handling, packaging finished products, and supporting assembly tasks as needed within the manufacturing facility.

Skills

• Proficiency in CNC programming and CAM programming for machining operations.
• Strong understanding of mechanical blueprint reading and interpretation of technical drawings.
• Experience operating CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, press brakes, and other industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Ability to use precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, shop math skills, GD&T principles, and dimensional measurements.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks for design review or assembly tasks is a plus.
• Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with troubleshooting skills for factory equipment.
• Experience working in manufacturing or factory environments with a focus on safety standards.
• Ability to interpret production documents accurately while maintaining high quality standards.
• Warehouse experience including materials handling and packaging is advantageous.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
