We Are Hiring: Junior PHP/Laravel Developer

Location: Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Junior PHP/Laravel Developer to join our development team.

This role is ideal for a developer who is willing to learn, improve their skills, solve real-world coding challenges, and grow under the guidance of a Senior Developer.

You will work on our live projects and existing codebase, assisting with development tasks, fixing bugs, improving features, and learning professional software development practices.

What You Will Do

• Work closely with a Senior Developer to handle development tasks and code fixes.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and fix bugs in existing Laravel applications.
• Assist with developing and improving new features.
• Work with existing PHP/Laravel codebases and gradually take on more complex tasks.
• Write clean, organized, and maintainable code.
• Work with databases and perform basic database queries and updates.
• Assist with API development and integration.
• Participate in code reviews and team discussions.
• Learn and follow our development standards, workflows, and best practices.
• Challenge yourself with real-world development problems and continuously improve your skills.

Requirements

PHP & Laravel

• Good understanding of PHP fundamentals.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Laravel.
• Understanding of Laravel routing, controllers, middleware, requests, and responses.
• Knowledge of Eloquent ORM and Laravel migrations.
• Basic understanding of Blade templates.
• Ability to understand and work with an existing Laravel codebase.

Database

• Understanding of MySQL or other relational databases.
• Ability to write basic SQL queries.
• Basic knowledge of database relationships, migrations, and data management.

Frontend

• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with integrating frontend components with Laravel applications is an advantage.

API & Backend

• Basic understanding of REST APIs.
• Ability to work with existing APIs and troubleshoot API-related issues.
• Familiarity with Laravel Sanctum or similar authentication systems is an advantage.

Git & Development Tools

• Basic knowledge of Git and GitHub.
• Ability to pull, commit, push, and work with branches.
• Willingness to learn professional development workflows.

Important: Location

The developer must reside close to Bodija, Ibadan be able to attend office meetings when required.

This is important because you will need to work directly with the Senior Developer and other team members to understand our existing codebase, development structure, workflow, and project requirements.

This is not strictly a remote-learning position. We want someone who can be physically present in the office for practical learning, collaboration, troubleshooting, and code discussions.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: ₦50,000.00 - ₦200,000.00 per month
