We specialise in supplying and supporting advanced print technology for sign makers, print companies, exhibition businesses, manufacturers, and commercial print providers across the UK.

We are looking for a hands-on, technically minded Installation & Training Engineer to install large format print equipment across the UK and deliver professional customer training and support.

This is an exciting opportunity for somebody who enjoys travelling, problem solving, working with technology, and helping customers get the very best from their equipment.

Printer Service Engineer – UV & Wide Format
China Print Supplies
Location: Based near Oswestry, Shropshire, with travel to customer sites across the UK
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience; higher salary considered for an exceptional candidate
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, normally Monday to Friday, with flexibility for travel and installations

China Print Supplies is looking for a practical, experienced Printer Service Engineer to install new machines, support our customers and service and repair printers already in use.

You’ll work across our UV and wide-format printing equipment, combining hands-on engineering at customer sites with workshop work and remote technical support. We need someone who enjoys diagnosing problems, takes pride in a properly completed installation and communicates clearly with customers.

What you’ll be doing

  • Installing, commissioning and testing printers at customer premises, including checking site readiness before installation.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, electronic and ink-delivery faults.
  • Carrying out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and print-quality troubleshooting.
  • Replacing and setting up components such as printheads, pumps, dampers, sensors and other service parts.
  • Configuring printer software and connections, carrying out calibration and completing test prints.
  • Training customers in machine operation, routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • Providing technical support by telephone, email and video, arranging site visits where required.
  • Working with manufacturers and suppliers to resolve technical issues and identify the correct parts.
  • Maintaining clear installation and service reports, parts records and customer updates.
  • Preparing and maintaining showroom and demonstration equipment.
  • Following safe working procedures and checking equipment operates correctly before handing it back to the customer.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience installing, servicing or repairing digital printing equipment, ideally UV or wide-format printers.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Confidence working independently and knowing when to seek further technical support.
  • Familiarity with inkjet systems, printhead maintenance, calibration and print-quality issues.
  • Good IT skills, including printer software, RIP software and basic networking.
  • Clear, professional communication and a helpful approach to customer support.
  • Good organisation, accurate record keeping and the ability to prioritise service work.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays.

An electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering qualification would be beneficial, although relevant practical experience is equally valuable. Experience with DTF, UV DTF, eco-solvent printers or digital cutting equipment would also be useful.

What we offer

  • £40,000–£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
  • Flexibility on salary for a highly experienced UV/wide-format engineer.
  • Company vehicle for business use.
  • Tools, laptop and phone.
  • Paid overtime, with arrangements for travel outside normal hours agreed clearly.
  • Business travel and accommodation expenses covered.
  • A varied role with a direct impact on customer satisfaction and the development of our technical service.

To apply

Please send your CV and a short summary of the printer brands and models you have worked on. Include details of your installation and repair experience, your location and your notice period.

An early start would be welcome, but we can accommodate the right candidate’s notice period.

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Free or subsidised travel
  • On-site parking
