Laser Compliance Engineer

The Opportunity

A deep-tech company developing advanced optical systems is looking for a Laser Safety Engineer to take ownership of laser safety across complex, high-power laser systems. You'll work directly with engineering and research teams to build safety into hardware design, from beam containment and interlocks to hazard assessments and system validation.

What You'll Bring

• Experience with Class 3B and/or Class 4 laser systems
• Practical laser safety engineering experience, including containment, interlocks or hazard assessments
• Working knowledge of ANSI Z136 and/or IEC 60825
• Experience with optical measurements, beam characterisation or laser hazard evaluation
• The confidence to work directly with engineers to solve safety challenges in complex, evolving systems
