Laser Operator 3 AXIS - 3rd Shift (11 pm - 7 am)

Position Summary

Watson Engineering, Inc. – SC is seeking a skilled and motivated 3 AXIS Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team, on 3rd shift (11:00 pm – 7:00 am Sunday to Thursday). In this role, you will operate a 3-axis laser cutting machine to cut metal structural part to print.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and operating laser cutting machine as directed.
• Understand basic laser language, including G-Code and CNC Code
• Produce (quality and quantity) parts that meet customer specifications and expected output levels.
• Visually identify and correct deficiencies in parts produced.
• Interact appropriately (written and oral) with other employees and management.
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround time, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide seamless customer service.
• Verifying conformance of work piece to specifications.

Skills

• Safely and effectively operate laser cutter and related machinery and equipment.
• Ability to read and interprete blueprints.
• Understanding of basic laser language, including G-Code and CNC Code.
• Knowledge of basic GD&T - Flattness, Perpendicularity, True Position, Datum Structure and Datum Symbols.
• Ability to draw and program laser files using customer prints and drawings.
• Ability to convert CAD files into desired drawing files.

Physical Requirements

· May be required to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, bend twist, squat, kneel, stand or sit for extended periods of time.

· Work may involve exposure to noise, sparks, heat and industrial equipment found in manufacturing environments.

Position is contract-to-direct hire after 45-90 days

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour (dependent on experience +$0.45/hour shift premium)

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
