Steelway Brickhouse, based in West Bromwich, is a key division of the business, producing precision-engineered access covers and frames for use across the Water, Sewer, Telecommunications, Power, Rail, Domestic, Industrial, and Commercial markets - in mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.

About The Role This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous experience setting and operating laser cutting machines.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate Bodor and Trumpf CNC laser cutting machines to produce components to customer specifications.
• Prepare machines for production, including loading materials, selecting the correct programmes, tooling and machine settings.
• Read and work from engineering drawings, job sheets and production specifications.
• Load and select the correct CNC programmes and make basic adjustments to cutting parameters and machine settings where required.
• Inspect finished components using basic measuring equipment to ensure they meet drawing and specification requirements.

Key Skills & Experience

• Previous experience setting and operating CNC laser cutting machines is essential.
• Bodor and/or Trumpf laser experience is diserable.
• Ability to read and interpet engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience working with different material types and thicknesses within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
• Previous experience working with CNC machinery, press brakes, guillotines or other sheet metal machinery would be advantageous.
