Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Lathe Operator to join our production team. The candidate will be responsible for operating conventional or CNC lathe machines, machining components according to technical drawings, and ensuring that all manufactured parts meet the required quality and dimensional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and set up lathe machines for turning, facing, threading, drilling, boring, and other machiningoperations.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, work instructions, and measurement specifications.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
• Set machine parameters such as speed, feed, depth of cut, and cutting conditions.
• Measure finished components using vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspectioninstruments.
• Ensure components are manufactured within the specified dimensions and tolerance limits.
• Inspect raw materials and verify job specifications before starting machining operations.
• Perform in-process and final quality checks as per company standards.
• Maintain daily production records, job cards, and machine-related documentation.
• Keep the machine, tools, and work area clean and organized.
• Carry out basic machine maintenance and report machine abnormalities to the supervisor.
• Follow production schedules and complete assigned jobs within the required timeline.
• Coordinate with the quality, maintenance, and production teams to resolve machining-related issues.
• Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Minimize material wastage, tool damage, machine downtime, and rework.
• Required Skills:
• Good knowledge of lathe machine operation and machining processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand basic tolerances.
• Knowledge of turning, facing, threading, drilling, boring, and chamfering operations.
• Basic knowledge of cutting tools, tool angles, and machining parameters.
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety and shop-floor discipline.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a production team.
• Good coordination, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Qualification Requirements:

• ITI in Fitter, Turner, Machinist, or a related trade.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be preferred.
• Previous experience as a Lathe Operator or Machine Operator will be an advantage.
• Freshers with relevant ITI or technical training may also apply.
• Basic knowledge of engineering drawing and measurement tools.
• Willingness to work in shifts, if required.
• Ability to follow production instructions and company safety procedures.

Pay: ₹18,600.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
