Lathe Operator

We are looking for an experienced Lathe Operator to operate conventional lathe machines for manufacturing and machining of components used in centrifugal pumps and engineering products.

The candidate will be responsible for machine operation, component machining, dimensional accuracy, tool selection, measurement and maintaining production quality as per drawings and specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate Conventional Lathe Machine for machining engineering components.
• Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, grooving, drilling and other machining operations.
• Machine components as per engineering drawings and specifications.
• Read and understand basic mechanical drawings and dimensions.
• Set and operate the machine according to job requirements.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds.
• Check dimensions using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge and other measuring instruments.
• Maintain required dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
• Perform in-process inspection of machined components.
• Identify and report dimensional deviations and quality issues.
• Maintain proper machine settings and tools.
• Ensure proper handling of raw materials and finished components.
• Maintain machine cleanliness, housekeeping and basic machine safety.
• Complete production targets within the required time.
• Follow company quality, safety and ISO procedures.

• Impeller-related components
• Rings
• Bearing housings
• Flanges
• Mechanical components
• Other centrifugal pump and engineering components

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Good knowledge of Conventional Lathe Machine Operation.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of machining dimensions and tolerances.
• Hands-on experience with Vernier, Micrometer and other measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds and feeds.
• Good understanding of machining processes.
• Ability to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
• Knowledge of basic machine maintenance and safety practices.
• Ability to achieve production targets with required quality.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE

• ITI / Diploma in Machinist / Fitter / Mechanical Trade will be preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in engineering / manufacturing industry.
• Experience in centrifugal pump, valve, heavy engineering or machining industry will be preferred.
• Candidates having experience in machining shafts, sleeves, bushes and pump components will have an advantage.
• Candidates with strong practical knowledge of conventional lathe operations are encouraged to apply.
• Immediate Joiners will be preferred.
