Laundry Associate

Key Responsibilities

Laundry associates perform a variety of tasks to ensure all laundry items are clean, sanitized, and ready for use. Core duties include:

• Sorting and Processing Laundry: Sort items by type, color, and fabric; pre-treat stains; load and operate washing machines and dryers; monitor cycles for proper cleaning and drying
• Folding and Organizing: Fold, press, and organize clean laundry; prepare linens, towels, or garments for distribution; package or store items in designated areas
• Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate laundry machines safely and efficiently; clean and maintain washers, dryers, and work areas; report malfunctions or technical issues
• Quality Control: Inspect items for stains, damage, or wear; rewash or treat items as needed; ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are met
• Inventory and Supply Management: Track laundry items and inventory levels; restock detergents, fabric softeners, and other supplies; assist with linen or uniform counts
• Safety and Hygiene: Follow safety and sanitation guidelines; handle chemicals properly; maintain a clean and organized workspace; adhere to health regulations

Skills and Qualifications

• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 20–50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks
• Attention to Detail: Ensure proper cleaning, folding, and organization of items
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of laundering techniques, machine operation, and minor sewing or repair skills interview
• Communication and Teamwork: Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and collaborate with housekeeping or management teams
