Laundry Attendant/Houseman

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Operate garment care machines such as industrial washers, dryers, and dry cleaning equipment to ensure textiles are cleaned efficiently and properly.
• Handle laundry materials with care, including sorting, folding, and organizing linens.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all laundry areas by following safety protocols and using appropriate cleaning supplies like laundry detergents.
• Use push carts and other materials handling tools to transport heavy loads safely throughout the facility.
• Adhere to safety standards in production environments by following safety protocol guidelines for manual handling and heavy lifting.
• Assist with general housekeeping duties around the facility to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
• Support customer service efforts by responding promptly to requests for laundry services or garment care assistance.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, textile cleaning techniques, and sanitation practices.
• Experience operating laundry machines such as industrial washers, and dryers.
• Ability to handle materials safely using manual handling techniques and push carts for transporting heavy loads.
• Basic math skills for measuring detergents, calculating load sizes, or managing inventory.
• Understanding of safety standards in production environments to prevent accidents during heavy lifting or equipment operation.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards clients or residents requesting laundry services.
• Familiarity with laundry detergents, garment care products, and proper use of sanitation supplies to ensure effective cleaning results.
