LAUNDRY ATTENDANTS

Job Summary

We are seeking a hardworking, reliable, and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to handle the washing, drying, ironing, folding, and proper storage of linen, uniforms, towels, and other laundry items. The successful candidate will ensure that all items are cleaned thoroughly, handled carefully, and delivered on time while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Job Description

• Receive, sort, and classify laundry items according to colour, fabric type, and cleaning requirements.
• Wash clothes, bed linens, towels, uniforms, and other items using appropriate washing methods.
• Operate washing machines, dryers, irons, steamers, and other laundry equipment safely.
• Remove stains using suitable cleaning products and approved techniques.
• Dry, iron, fold, and package laundry items neatly according to established standards.
• Inspect cleaned items to ensure they are free from stains, unpleasant odours, and damage.
• Separate damaged, stained, or missing items and report them to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of laundry received, processed, and delivered where required.
• Return clean laundry to the appropriate departments, storage areas, or customers.
• Handle guest clothing and other personal items carefully and respectfully.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the laundry room and storage areas.
• Monitor laundry supplies and report shortages of detergents, fabric softeners, and other materials.
• Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and operating laundry equipment.
• Report equipment faults and maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Follow hygiene, health, and safety procedures at all times.
• Perform other laundry-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements/Skills

• Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in laundry operations, housekeeping, or a similar role is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of washing, drying, ironing, folding, and fabric care.
• Ability to operate laundry equipment safely or learn its operation quickly.
• Good attention to detail and ability to identify stains or damaged items.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Honest, punctual, hardworking, and reliable.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.

Pay: ₦70,000.00 per month
