Job Title - Laundry Specialist

Reports To - Assistant Manager/Operations Manager/Owners

Job Purpose

This position assists laundry customers with processing laundry or dry-cleaning orders, assisting with washer/dryer issues, purchasing counter items, processing change requests, following company checklists, etc. All transactions will be processed using an industry specific Point of Sale system.

Performs washing, drying, folding for drop-off customers according to company standards and procedures. Helps to maintain cleanliness of store and all machines. May also be trained on dry cleaning and pressing duties. In certain cases, could be asked to fill in as a driver for pickup and delivery orders.

Duties and Responsibilities

Examples of work performed in the position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Maintain positive and enthusiastic interactions with customers and staff.
• Process customer transactions and tracking of orders through a POS system.
• Sorts laundry items received for washing per customer instructions.
• Loads proper weights into washing machines and unloads upon completion of wash cycle.
• Loads & operates dryers, insuring proper weight of load and correctness of temperature. Neatly fold and bag laundry for customer pick up.
• Check and clean lint screens and filters as necessary to maintain optimum efficiency of dryers.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts (opening, closing, weekends).
• Maintains cleanliness of store by wiping countertops, machine tops and soap receptacles. Makes sure trash is not overflowing and floor is kept dry and clear of debris. Makes sure bathroom is clean and stocked.
• Reports any equipment not working properly to management.
• Handles over-the-counter sales of laundry products (detergent, fabric softener, laundry bags, etc.)
• If trained on dry cleaning and pressing duties, fill in as needed for those shifts.
• Fill in driving a company vehicle for pickup and delivery of customer orders.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned by management.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Customer service experience preferred
• Good interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with computers and repetitive motion
• Class C Drivers License

Working Conditions

The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily indoors, in potentially hot and/or dry conditions.

Pay: $15.55 - $16.00 per hour
